i realize now why my photos are suddenly muted in color, and why i have taken a sudden inclination towards muted color. it's because it's everywhere. it's winter. greenery becomes monochromery.

on the way to Ikea Croydon we passed a highway that was just completely bordered by a vast amount of field. some areas were probably parks, because there were benches and walkways. it had snowed in the area and it really is quite enlightening to see almost everything covered in white.

but not enlightening as it is profoundly melancholy. for beyond the merry christmas songs you stand among silent, dormant life. nothing rustles. nothing crawls. all is cold and all is still.

i want to learn how to listen for the breath of the trees.
