when the sun sets i always see it in fragments like this: hints of orange or pink on rooftops, on the underside of the flapping wings of birds, lining bare tree branches...

i finally have a photo that has a reflection of the sky on a window like that. and as much as i have always wanted to lie in an open field or on the top of a rock form just to see the sunset (however quotidian and even overrated it is) in all its orange majestic glory, i think i will always see it more beautiful like this: in its little fragments of beauty sprinkled on the (even more quotidian) lives of our little world.

when i spotted this while waiting for my dad to pick me up, i wondered how i was going to get a good frame. i don't usually like shooting a photo on an upward gradient, unless it's dead straight in front of the subject. even then, upward gradient views are minimal in my collection. it's always either eye-level or a downward gradient.

but this one, for some reason, feels okay that it's looking up this way. it even feels okay that it is, once again (i tend to have photos that are tilted to the right), lopsided. somehow it adds to the ordinariness.

starting from the 25th photo, i have had to resize my photos. the high resolution didn't really help with my 100MB monthly upload limit. :(
