last day of the first month!!!

i went to st james' park today, with my dad, to sketch birds and trees for my first sketchbook. by the time i'd taken photos and filled up a page of sketches, my hands were freezing. i had to stop drawing because i couldn't draw properly anymore - i couldn't move my hands properly.

today i realized how human-like ducks are. an odd realization and one that may only make sense to me, what with ducks being birds and all, but there you go. it's something about their head.

it's been a while since i'd put up a photo of birds in flight. i quite like this one, with the dull blue of the sky, the textural clouds and the sun's hint of its brilliant glow behind the cloud veil. and then of course the birds. how the one on the right has a wing that's disappeared into the sun's glow. consumed by illumination.
