028: rain dance?

the word "dance" seems to be pervading my titles of late.

i'm not quite sure why birds do this in rainy weather. and i'm really interested in knowing why. as a psychology student i should say that it is merely some sort of instinctive behavior conditioned by circumstance (in this case the weather) but i'd like to believe that something more than science exists in such behavior.

i wonder if they have souls. if they can intellectually communicate. what they think of when they fly around in circles in big flocks. are they in search of something? a familiar face? a distinct, familiar flap of a wing? are they aware of their communion?

i wonder what it would be like to have a bird as a physical body, if my limbs would get tired of flapping and what it's like to have bird's eye view, and how it feels to soar upwards and plunge down, and how it is to be going against strong winds, and how it's like to just glide through the air.
